After a confrontation with religious leaders who commit themselves to having Jesus killed, he retreats from them and continues his public ministry.
During this time, many people who have traveled far and wide to find Jesus have gathered before him to hear his teachings and to be miraculously healed by him. Luke's description of this event shows that Jesus' popularity is growing.
