Question: How did Judas die? Acts 1:18 says: "Now this man (Judas) purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out." But Matt. 27:5-7 says: "And he (Judas) cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests...bought with them the potter's field."
Response: In the second part of Acts 1:18, the part that says that Judas' body fell and burst open, is describing what happened to his body after he died. After he hanged himself, either the rope broke, or whatever was supporting the rope broke, and his body fell forward.
